about
Sometimes called Sally My Dear, Hares on the Mountain is a Victorian folk song consisting of sexual metaphors and strange goings on which seem to describe brazen and combative women: “If all the young men were hares on the mountain, how many young girls would take guns and go hunting?”.

Wilkes has recorded a series of traditional pieces of which this is the second to be released.
